Mary Muehl
Muehl’s career included being a Science Instructor and Staff Developer in the Linn-Mar Community School district, where she was named Chemistry Teacher of the Year by the Iowa Academy of Science. She moved into school improvement/curriculum development during her career with Grant Wood Area Education Agency. After retiring from education, Muehl became a Science Content Specialist and with Pearson in Iowa City.
While at Grant Wood, Muehl developed the Mentor Academy, training over 250 experienced teachers to support beginning teachers. |
While serving on the Executive Council, Mary developed the AARP Iowa Speaker’s Bureau, recruiting and training volunteers. She has presented programs on the Affordable Care Act, Fraud and Identity Theft, Life Reimagined and Home Fit.
Muehl earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of St. Teresa in Winona, MN and a master’s degree from Marycrest International University in Davenport. Muehl is also a graduate of the National Staff Development Council Academy.
