Nancylee Siebenmann

Nancylee Siebenmann is a tireless campaigner for nurses and the professionalism of the nursing vocation. During her career of over 30 years, she initiated programs, many of which were innovative as well as life-saving. She began one of the first Patient Representative programs in the state. She implemented the first Infection Control Coordinator position with the hospital, allowing staff to become more educated on infectious diseases and how to control them. In her work with the Red Cross, she initiated funding of a grant through the Cedar Rapids Community Foundation for $750,000 to be used for Case Management and HIV/AIDS prevention and education.

As the assistant director of St Luke’s School of Nursing, she campaigned for a St Luke’s and Coe College partnership that would create a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, and in 1972, she achieved that goal, laying the foundation for the now Coe College Nursing program.

Nancylee has certainly dedicated her personal and professional life to advocating for the needs of others and ensuring the profession of nursing maintains standards and care practices, and advancing the career of nursing.

Nancylee is also a community leader advocating for the health of others through her work in Red Cross National Board of Governor, member of Red Cross National Nurse Committee, National Biomedical Committee, Environmental Protection Committee, and member of State Board of Health. She served on Visiting Nurse Association Board, Witwer Senior Center Board of Directors, Heritage Area Agency on Aging Task Force and Advisory Council, just to name a few.
