The Major 7th

the band's only album.  The album included the group's 
original composition, "The Chase. "

Sam Zimmerman Jr. (front) was a Belle Plaine High School 
graduate, 1965.  During Sam's and drummer Jim Christy's 
military service, the band was put on hold. Sam re-formed the 
band in 1970 with a few new members and continued playing 
until 1972.

Another photo from the  back album cover.  According to the 
album's notes, the band formed in 1966 as a college band with
its emphasis on brass.

The album cover design was by artist Gary Anderson of 
Cedar Rapids.  Anderson also designed the Tree of Five 
Seasons
  in downtown Cedar Rapids and the The Legacy in
downtown Belle Plaine.
